“Above It All”

Blue-green slowly darkens into brown and near-black, giving this composition a hushed, grounded gravity. The ocher circle hangs above the darker lower field, neither rising nor falling, but held in a tense equilibrium.

The gradient reads as a liminal space between water and soil, spirit and matter, visibility and concealment. Teal suggests introspection and emotional depth; brown brings ancestry, weight, and memory. The circle may be a moon, a marker, or a sealed portal. Its position suggests a pause before descent, as though meaning is gathering strength before entering shadow.

Artist’s Comment

To me this gradient clearly presents a set of differences: sky and dust, deep and shallow, intense and neutral. The yellow circle is detached from this dichotomy, above it all.
